I first saw this on Depressed Fan and now John Murphy of Yahoo! Sports is reporting it...
Moats, also a special teams contributor, is a potentially intriguing pickup since he is signed for two more years and would likely be an affordable alternative to teams searching to add a young back with NFL playing experience.
Moats is believed to be worth a mid-round choice in the NFL Draft (April 28-29) if the Eagles can find a trade partner.
First, since when is Moats "a special teams contributor?" The last thing I saw him contribute on special teams was when he ran into his own man on who was fielding punt causing a fumble and what turned out to be the game winning score for the Saints early last year... From that point on I don't think he ever saw the field the rest of the year.
Is he worth anything? I'm really not sure. He's shown some flashes of talent here but ultimately couldn't beat out Correll Buckhalter who has two bionic knees. He's also showed that he has trouble holding onto the ball, which is bad news for a RB. Frankly, if I was an opposing team I'd just wait for him to get cut this offseason.
