This report is stemming from 610 WIP... Free agent RB Ron Dayne may be coming in to visit the Eagles tomorrow. Yes, it's the same Ron Dayne whe was on the Giants, Broncos, and Texans... Does anyone else remember Merrell Reese saying "Dayne for no gain" in those years he was on the Giants? He was born in Berlin, NJ.
Ugh, they might as well just re-sign Buckhalter.
On the positive side, Dayne did finish last year pretty well with the Texans rushing for 429 yards over his last 4 games.
Update [2007-3-14 18:7:17 by BleedGreen]: Comcast Sportsnet is now reporting that Dayne will visit the Eagles tomorrow.
The Eagles are interested in adding a big running back.
A league source has told Comcast Sportsnet that Ron Dayne is scheduled to visit the Eagles on Thursday.
Dayne has been much more productive the last two seasons than he was in his first five with the Giants. In 11 games for the Houston Texans last season, the 5-foot-10, 243-pound Dayne rushed 151 times for 612 yards (4.1 yards per attempt) and five touchdowns.
Two seasons ago with the Denver Broncos, the Overbrook High School grad rushed for 270 yards on 53 attempts (5.1 yards per attempt) and a touchdown in 10 games.
In his five-year career with the Giants, who drafted him 11th overall in 2000, Dayne never averaged more than 3.8 yards per carry.
