Giants trade for Droughns; Show interest in Hood

The Giants have made a move to start to replace the retired Tiki Barber...  While Reuben Droughns is far from a replacement for Tiki, he's done some things in his career.

Droughns is coming off a pretty poor 06 season where rushed for under 800 yards that prompted the Browns  to bring in another under performing back in Jamal Lewis. Certainly Droughns/Jacobs is not nearly as scary as Tiki and whoever... In fact, the word is from the Giants camp that Jacobs may still end up as the starter. That actually should be a good training camp battle to watch.

The Giants traded WR Tim Carter, which thins out their WR corps quite a bit, especially when you consider Amani Toomer is aging and coming off a major injury. Clearly they are still expecting a contribution from Sinorice Moss, but this trade makes me think the Giants may make a real push to sign Kevin Curtis or draft a WR high.

The Giants are also reportedly interested in bringing in former Eagles CB Rod Hood for a visit. However, it looks like the Cardinals are very close to a deal with Hood.
