McNabb Fixed, Bartrum Out

Donovan McNabb underwent successful surgery today in Birmingham, AL at the office of Dr. James Andrews, who from what I can remember has fixed every sports injury ever. The torn ACL and meniscus damage were both repaired and the timeline for his return remains 8-12 months.

Eagles head trainer Rick Burkholder said that he feels that McNabb will be ready to go by opening day of next year.

In other notes Eagles pro bowl long snapper Mike Bartrum is out for the year due to a neck injury. Neither the Eagles, nor Bartrum know when he got it. Could the injury have anything to do with that botched snap on the first David Akers FG attempt?

It appears the DE Darren Howard, who has long snapping experience will take over the duties.

Update [2006-11-29 7:49:1 by BleedGreen]: The Daily News is now reporting that this injury will probably end Bartrum's career. He was apparently considering retirement at the end of the year anyway. Also, the Eagles have worked out free agent long snappers this week.
