Injury update - Getting Healthy

Good news came out of the Novacare complex yesterday as Lito Sheppard returned to practice for the first time since he was hurt early on in week one. It seems pretty likely from some comments that Jim Johnson has made that Lito may very well start. Clearly, a healthy Lito Sheppard would be a huge boost to a very suspect Eagles secondary.

Rod Hood, who is listed as questionable, still has not practiced as of yet. It would appear that won't be playing, especially if Lito does. It should be noted though that Hood didn't practice at all last week but still made the start.

Frankly heading into the Dallas game next Sunday, I'd have no problem with Rod Hood sitting this week. I do, however, think it's important for Lito to see some time. I'd rather him not matching up against Terry Glenn or TO after not playing for 4 weeks.

Westbrook also returned to practice and will start. Plus, Donte Stallworth who missed the 49er game is "positive" he'll play and Brian Dawkins, who suffered a concussion, will start.
