chad johnson says he can beat michael phelps in swimming....i donno about that.  either way, the interview is pretty funny.  he gets mad when the PTI guys laugh that chad says he'll beat phelps, and he is completely serious about his statements (or so it seems)

i wish that the eagles could do what their arena football counterparts just did to cleveland...i would trade so many arena football championship trips or championships for an eagles super bowl win...interestingly enough though, the announcer for the game said he was choosing the eagles to win the super bowl this year, which i was surprised by.  i obviously agree with him, as i think they'll win it every year, but it was surprising to me that the guy didn't go with the popular choices like new england or dallas or indianapolis, i thought.  

now that we signed asante, we have three pro bowl caliber cbs.  especially with sheldon already unhappy when donovan asked for playmakers, now that we got one, and at the same position he plays, i can only imagine what his reactio might be.  hopefully it will be a non issue and we can move people around, but we could also consider a trade.  Mikell was playing well at the end of the year last year, and dawkins will hopefully be back to form this season.  while i like depth in the secondary, one thing that i think might be worth trying is trading lito or sheldon to detroit (who many mock drafts have taking a cornerback in the first round) and maybe a draft pick for roy williams.  this would be a big reciever to help out our red zone offense.  we signed asante, and reid already said he'll be starting at corner.  why not try a trade to better our offense?  imagine curtis' numbers if people are worried about roy williams when he had a 1000 yard season with people only worrying about him and reggie brown.  

While I know that so far the season hasn't go an we would have hoped, and people are very unhappy with andy reid and his game day coaching, I want to encourage all of us to stand by him.  With the announcement yesterday that his kids were both sentenced to prison terms of 23 months and reid's house being called a "drug emporium", all i heard this morning was about how the eagles fans are getting tired of reid, and he's gonna have to start worrying about lurie needing to listen to what the fans want.  At this point in our Reid's life, it's gotta be sucking, and while this year hasn't been the best, for the better part of a decade he has led this team to being a dominant force in the NFL.  I'm sick of hearing about how much eagles fans suck cause it's such a tough town and the fans are never happy.  This is a time to support our coach and show him that we appreciate it.  As much as I hate to use this anaology...when Bellichick got caught cheating, the Patriots and their fans stood by their coach, and i feel like we should do the same.  sure we all love booing everything we deem bullshit, but in my opinion, now is a time to support reid, not call for his head.
