Thomas Tapeh signs with the Vikings/Giants exodus

The Vikings have announced that they've agreed to terms with FB Thomas Tapeh.

Free agent fullback Thomas Tapeh has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Vikings. Tapeh, a Twin Cities product who attended St. Paul Johnson High and played football at the University of Minnesota, was a fifth-round draft choice of the Eagles in 2004.

Tapeh is now officially the first Eagle to sign elsewhere this offseason. Not a bad move for the Vikings actually, as Tapeh knows the blocking schemes of the Reid version of the west coast offense(which the Vikes run) as well as anyone.

This obviously means the Eagles will have a new starting fullback next year, which we kinda thought would happen anyway...

Just to update some news in our division, the Giants have lost 2 LBs in the span of a few hours. Kawika Mitchell, who was a starter all year and an important piece of that defense, has signed a 5 year deal with the Buffalo Bills. The deal is worth only $17.5 million, with $3.5 guaranteed. That's not a lot of money for a guy you'd think the Giants would have liked to keep. They've also lost solid, all around depth linebacker Reggie Torbor to the Miami Dolphins.

Other reports say Gibril Wilson could sign with the Raiders and RB Derrick Ward is not expected to return.

Is someone asleep in the wheel over the meadowlands or are the Giants super confident in their depth?

Wow
I'm surprised somebody wanted him but I guess Minnesota makes sense since it's Childress.

Wilkinson
They really like Gerry Wilkinson, can play SAM or WILL, but beyond that, I'm not sure what it left.

Giants
Hopefully the curse shifts to the Super Bowl winner this year.

who is next
ok now since tapeh is gone who do we go with. do we play it safe and sign grandpa neal or do we draft somone or both. i would really like to see us trade with st. luis for brian lenard but i doubt that would happen.

p.s. i would rather the super bowl curse stick with the pats

Giants
Maybe they believe their own press clippings that they are so expert at drafting with their new GM that they are certain to draft 8 new immediate "contributors" this year.

That's the only answer
It certainly isn't money. They've got cap room and Mitchell was cheap. Wilson will go for big money, but even so... They can afford it.

It must be that they think their drafting/depth is amazing.

Unfortunately, I can't really argue that. Yet.
