Is Shawn Andrews just being dramatic?
First, check out the last post for the genesis of this whole controversy. Today, Andy Reid reiterated that the injury was a simple ankle sprain. Dave Spadaro on Eagles Live repeated that and wondered whether Shawn was just being dramatic... Team sources seemed to be encouraging as well
Bob Brookover at the Inky had a source.
Reuben Frank heard the same story from another team source.
This is a very peculiar situation. Certainly I'm starting to understand why Andy doesn't like his players to discuss their injuries... Is Andrews just being dramatic here? When I read quotes from him that say "Just pray for me if you care about me," I tend to think that just maybe he is. We'll see.

I think his words
Tear-jerker? Ankle sprains can be just that. They can sideline people for up to a month. That's a lot of time away from the game he loves, especially for a guy who has been out of it for a year and was looking forward to becoming dominant.
Pray for me if you care about me? I think it's just him saying, essentially, if you are a family or loved one of mine, just pray taht i'll get better soon. Ankle sprains don't go away fast. If he tries to come back too soon, it easily turns into a more severe ligament tear, and then he's sidelined for a long time.
Andrews is an emotional guy, I don't think he wants this to turn into a drama fest, he's just probably extremely frustrated at every minute he isn't out there mauling guys and being part of the team. They don't call him "The Big Baby" for no reason!

That what I'm hoping
(If that's the case, Shawn, LOL, but you're killin' us!)
I guess they have different perceptions of what is a serious injury, too. For the team and medical staff, it's mostly about how fast he'll heal and whether there's long-term damage.
For Shawn, I'm sure that's important, too, but there's also the matter of how much pain he's in right now, too.
Get well soon, Shawn!
