Michael Lewis
Since this post has no topic, maybe it's a good place to make a random comment.  Michael Lewis, ex-Eagles safety, was interviewed on the local sports talk station out here in the Bay Area last night, and spent quite a bit of time (at the host's direction) talking about the Eagles.  One thing he said that I thought was interesting was that the difference between here (SF) and there (Philadelphia) was not so much the fans but that the media drove the team back there.  He expressed the view that a lot of the personnel moves made by the Eagles are made in reaction to media pressure.  He really emphasized the point.  I am wondering what any of you make of his comments.

Not sure
Everyone was certainly beating the drum for him to get benched... maybe that colored the way he saw things.

It's always seemed to me that the Eagles completely ignore what the fans and media are always clamoring for.

Too many voices...
I haven't listened to WIP in nearly 3 years and don't read the Inky or Daily News often, however from what I remember, there were just SO MANY opinions from various idiots (the seemingly loudest always being the stupidest... couch, Angelo, cough), that any action any of the teams took could have been construed to be reactionary to "media pressure."

On a side note, does Angelo's abortion of a TV show still exist?

Not sure
I moved last year and now actually live just outside of the area where you get Comcast sportsnet, so I don't know what's on it these days.

Personnel and Drafting
"On that note, some members of the media have begun to heap the criticism and blame on the personnel people. (700 Level)"

Oh this is so old.

These people always criticize, criticize, criticize, but then they never point to a team that is supposedly drafting "better" than the Eagles and back it up with facts.

For example the Eagles still have 11 draft picks and 4 undrafted free agents on the roster from 1999-2004.  12 other guys the Eagles drafted or signed are still playing for other teams.

Guess how many the Patriots have?  11 draft picks, 3 undrafted free agents!  Guess how many guys they released are still in the league playing for another team?  12 guys!

What exactly do these guys expect?
