Around SBN: Race to the Roses & BCS Bowl Predictions

Whole lotta cheating going on!

Plano trainer says he supplied Cowboys players with steroids.

A man who pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of illegal steroids has given federal authorities the names of former and current Dallas Cowboys players who he says he supplied with performance-enhancing drugs, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

The Cowboys organization denies any link to the man in custody.

Also, a Redskins blogger seems to think they were piping in crowd noise during Sunday's Eagles game. He seems very convinced.

But the juicy one is obviously the first story... I think I'll reserve comment until this story plays itself out. With these type of things it's always hard to know what to believe. If it does turn out to be true, then we'll have some fun!

league-wide problem
Until convinced otherwise, I am assuming that steroid use is extremely widespread in this league, that it occurs relatively equally on every team, and that it is no more common among those thought to be the league's bad guys as it is among those thought to be among the league's good guys.  Isn't my understanding that the league announces when the testing will take place and that any semi-sophisticated user knows enough to cycle off in advance of the testing?

Drug use
is a part of elite college, professional, ameateur sports. It's a part of the game and i thas been for YEARS. You cant stop it, just be ignorant about it.

I don't know ...
if choosing ignorance is the solution.  The league needs to keep plugging away, but in the meantime, I won't be shocked by anything I hear.  If it's as commonplace as I think, perhaps the league should allow such use under the supervision of a team doctor.

HGH and Steroids obviously used...
Any sport where there is limited healing time, drugs offer a huge advantage.  They are more important in stimulating healing than in gaining bulk (which is another big reason for their use).

Crowd Noise
I was at the Eagles/4skins game directly below a speaker and there is absolutely no question in my mind that they were pumping in crowd noise.  It was clear as day.  It only occurred on big downs, mostly third downs, when the Eagles had the ball.  This is sad and pathetic but also emblematic of how The Danny runs his shop.  Any short-cut or easy way to the top, he's going to try.  I couldn't be more glad that the Eagles, as poorly as they played most of that game, came out with a W.

I just read it was Matt Lehr
who was a former Cowboy and current Falcon offensive lineman.
