Who Powered Through? Eagles Announce Inactives
The Eagles have announced their inactives for tonight's matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. CB Brandon Hughes, DE Daniel Te'o-Nesheim, CB Gerard Lawson, LB Stewart Bradley, LB Keenan Clayton, OT Austin Howard, OL Reggie Wells & QB Mike Kafka (3rd QB).
Mike Patterson, who had been listed as questionable with a knee will play and Derrick Burgess will plays his first game for the Eagles (this time around that is). Also playing his first game will be rookie DT Jeff Owens.
Since newly acquired kick returner Gerard Lawson is inactive, I assume we'll be seeing one or all of Chad Hall, Eldra Buckley and possibly even Jeremy Maclin returning kickoffs.
Vikings QB Brett Favre will be inactive for tonight's game as will our old pals Greg Lewis and Hank Baskett
Asante Samuel & DeSean Jackson Active, Winston Justice Out
The Eagles have announced their inactives and both Asante Samuel and DeSean Jackson will play against the Giants. However starting RT Winston Justice is still not ready to go. King Dunlap will start in his place.
The other inactives, Stewart Bradley, Keenan Clayton, Austin Howard, Derrick Burgess, Garrett Mills & Brandon Hughes.
Who Powered Through? DT Antonio Dixon Not Among Eagles Inactives
The Eagles have announced their inactives for this afternoon's matchup with the Bears and DT Antonio Dixon will play. Not going for the Eagles will be Asante Samuel, Juqua Parker, Chad Hall, Brandon Hughes, Reggie Wells, Garrett Mills & Mike Kafka (3rd QB).
Daniel Te'o-Nesheim makes the active roster in Juqua Parker's absence.
Who Powered Through For The Eagles In Week 9?
We're going to be highlighting an Eagles player every week that played through injury or just generally powered through in a tough situation. After reading PFF's report on the Eagles Vs Colts game, one guy stood out to me.
After a couple of weeks out with injury, LT Jason Peters (+2.6) didn’t look rusty at all. He had a perfect game in pass protection despite the QB dropping back 40 times, and his run blocking (+0.9) was above average. One area Peters still needs to work on is penalties — he committed another false start.
Talk about a tough situation. You miss a few weeks to injury, have knee surgery and return just in time to face Dwight Freeney... and you shut him out. The Eagles certainly gave up some pressure in that game, but much of it came from Robert Mathis against Winston Justice, who did not have one of his better games.
