Brett Favre and the NY Jets?

Dsc04587_medium

Anyone who caught the second half of the ETN coverage of last Friday's game might remember seeing this graphic. I couldn't resist taking a picture... "Brett Favre and the NY Jets?" Really ETN?

Has the Favre mania gotten so bad that now even the Eagles local broadcast is pimping him? I really don't know why this bugged me so much, but I couldn't believe it. I've really had enough of having Brett Favre shoved down my throat.

Brett Favre trade to Tampa Bay coming soon?

Nfl_g_favre_580_medium

Reports are suggesting that the Packers are close to dealing Brett Favre to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Why should we as Eagles fans care? Because Favre in the NFC South could mean good news for us. As we discussed last week the Eagles hold the Carolina Panthers first round pick next year, and anything bad for them is good for us. Let's face it, who gives the Bucs a better chance to win two games against Carolina next year? The Bucs current QB Jeff Garcia or Brett Favre?

In case you need help deciding, Favre threw 28 TDs last year and Jeff threw 13. At least one Bucs blogger thinks they're a better team with Favre.

Favre's agent has said that the two most likely destinations for Favre are the Bucs or the Jets. This Eagles fans is rooting for Gruden and co to make the deal. At the very least, it gives Eagles fans some kind of perspective on all this Favre nonsense.

The Linc 7.31.08 - Pacman forgot something

AJ Feeley has earned his own place in the Urban dictionary. His name now has something to do with couches and hoes... (Hugging Harold Reynolds)

HHR also has an interesting take on the Brian Westbrook contract situation. Really, who owes who here? (Hugging Harold Reynolds)

Is it possible that we could see the fade pass entered into the Eagles offense this year? (Iggles Blog)

We all know how Eagles web guy Dave Spadaro feels about the Eagles... but what about entertainment and politics? (Poor Sports)

The word is that Victor Abiamiri's wrist injury could end his season, but what happened to the days of putting a club on your hand and playing? (Eagle Scout)

I'm sure Winston Justice really appreciated Osi Umenyoria's kind sentiments... (Bounty Bowl)

Just because you're a multi millionaire pro football player, doesn't mean you don't need online dating to find love. Right Mr Herremans? (Eaglesville)

At least we know that Desean Jackson knows how to take a hint. (Bleed Eagles Green)

If this year was last year... The Eagles would have won the Bears game thanks to a new rule change. (700 Level)

Santa may have deserved it, but LJ does not. (Santa Deserved It)

Here's a headline about Brett Favre I think we can all agree on. (Huge Tiny Mistake)

Speaking of Favre... if he went to Tampa Bay, Madden 2009 thinks he'd lose a playoff game to the Eagles (SI.com)

If Shawn Andrews is especting sympathy from his teammates at Lehigh, he's not getting it. At least not from Jon Runyan. (Eagletarian)

You know how I titled this edition of The Linc "Pacman forgot something?" Well what forgot was how to cover a WR.  Seriously, I don't know if I've ever seen someone faked this bad! (With Leather)

Finally. hands down no possible argument can be made... This is the hottest Bar on earth. (WWTDD)

Brett Favre to Redskins? Please let this happen.

V7xgs4_medium

The rumor from PFT is that the Redskins could be trading a first round pick to the Packers for the services of 38 year old QB Brett Farve. The Panthers are also reportedly  interested...

A reader tells us that WFAN’s Mike Francesa said earlier this afternoon that the Packers could be trading quarterback Brett Favre to the Carolina Panthers or the Washington Redskins for a conditional first-round draft pick.

The problem in that regard is that the Panthers don’t own a first-rounder in 2009; they traded it to the Eagles.  But maybe the Packers would settle for the equivalent of a round-one selection under the points chart that teams use to value draft picks.

We’d previously heard that Favre’s agent, Bus Cook, had been saying privately that Favre wants to play for the Panthers.

A flimsy rumor at best. If anything, it would appear that carolina is his most likely destination... but I'd give anything for the chance to face Favre twice a year. With his proclivity for interceptions and our new secondary... That could be fun!
