There weren't too many good things to come out of the first three quarters of the Eagles-Colts game on Sunday, but Philly's newest DT duo were able to be productive just days after signing.
SIX (6!) interceptions for the Eagles new safety CJ Gardner-Johnson this season. Just two plays after the defender was flagged, CJGJ got his revenge on a deep pass by Taylor Heinicke. The timing couldn't have been better with the Eagles down by two points (21-23) with 10 minutes left to play against Washington.
The Eagles took the lead against the Commanders (14-7) at the end of the first quarter with a beautiful jump pass by Jalen Hurts to Dallas Goedert for a 6-yard touchdown. The TD capped off an offensive drive that included touches by Miles Sanders, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Kenny Gainwell, and Zach Pascall.
The Eagles defense started off really strong against the Commanders, and Sweat's forced turnover resulted in a touchdown just a few plays later by Jalen Hurts.
No one in the NFL has intercepted more passes. Credit to Brandon Graham for creating the pressure but
Kenny Pickett grew up as a Birds fan. The Eagles will thank him for his generosity in coughing up the football on a Javon Hargrave sack. This turnover stopped a promising Steelers drive from their own 1-yard line and allowed the Eagles to score a TD of their own.
The Steelers bit on a fake screen to Dallas Goedert and left Zach Pascal wide open for a score down the left sideline. The coaching staff was really fired up about this one.
The Steelers have no answer for the Eagles' top wide receiver. Great pump fake and throw from Jalen Hurts to set up the touchdown.
Despite suffering what looked like a painful hand injury earlier in the game, C.J. Gardner-Johnson made an impressive diving catch on a duck from Cooper Rush. Huge play to help the Eagles really take back control of the game.
