Final Mock Draft

The NFL draft is 5 days away, and with it, "experts" and analysts and especially the fans are all wondering what will happen. What we know for certain, is nothing will go as what has been planned and mocked for months. On that note, The Texans trade up just like the last mock. The Eagles receiver the 25th overall pick, the 57th overall pick, the 88th overall pick. In exchange, the Texans receive the 14th overall pick, 99th overall pick, the 139th overall pick, and Mychal Kendricks. This trade is almost the same as before in my previous mock, and I stand by it being win-win for both teams, assuming the player the Texans trade up for is a franchise QB (which I think is the only reason they'd trade up). The Eagles still own 8 picks, all they did was net an additional 2nd, move up 11 spots in the 3rd (to help negate the Jernigan trade), and gave up a 4th. Now to the mock:

1.) Tre'davious White CB LSU: White is an interesting prospect. He has a lean frame but his coverage skills are off the charts. He might need to add a few pounds to be the aggressor Schwartz likes. He rarely will make a big play, but will rarely give up a big one, something the Eagles desperately need in the backfield. Something about LSU players just works for the NFL, and I trust it here. Being the 3rd best player on a SEC team when Jamal Adams and Fournette are the only two ahead of you is a big compliment. At 25, the Eagles don't feel like they're reaching for a corner early, and get to look forward to two picks in the 2nd later.

2.) Joe Mixon RB Oklahoma: The Eagles start getting nervous about the Bengals taking Mixon at 41, but in the end they get to scared and opt out. He falls to 43, and the Eagles snag the biggest steal of the draft. The crowd is in shock at first then proceeds to boo loudly. Chants of "woman beater" can be heard from the crowd. Wentz's final piece of the the #WentzWantsWeapons campaign has been completed, and fans forget about their anger when Mixon is running into the endzone all over defenses.

2.) Jalen Tabor CB Florida: I'm not gonna lie, the horrendouse 40 yard dashes Tabor put up scared me at first. But I quickly remembered to trust the tape, and this kid has got great tape, maybe the best in the class (hot take alert). Watching him play, he doesn't look like a 4.6 guy, and that is all that matters to me. He is fiery and aggressive and perfectly compliments the conservative play of White. Besides, #HowiehasFloridaBias.

3.) Jordan Willis DE Kansas State: Willis is a blazer at the EDGE position. I gave him the nod over Tanoh in this mock because after watching both of their tapes, Willis looks like he has the higher ceiling, and has the slightly stronger attack up field mentality Schwartz craves. He needs more consistency, and if he gets it, he'll be a force. With corners that can actually (gasp) stay on their guy for more than 2 seconds, Schwartz can dial up some heat as well. But picking Willis allows to him to get more pressure with 4. He makes Curry have to earn the starting spot by being solid competition.

4.) Duke Riley LB LSU: Schwartz is licking his chops over Riley, the best 4-3 WILL LB on the board. The Eagles snag the final piece they needed to make their front 7 elite. With corners that can cover well, the front 7 is free to thrive. Riley is a fast, physical linebacker that can also cover very well. He is undersized and was only a 1 year starter at LSU, which isn't a shock because LSU's roster is always so loaded the guy playing in front of the guy in question probably got drafted.

Trade! The Eagles trade Jason Kelce and one of their 2018 4ths (Not sure which one but they own 3, one of which can become a 3rd) to the Chicago Bears in exchange for the Bears 111th overall pick in the 2017 draft. The Eagles do this because there is a guy they love on the board and they no longer have an extra 4th this year. The Bears are building for the future and will take OL depth as well as a future pick. Don't fret, Seumalo takes over at Center for Kelce next year. Howie is on the prowl and hungry going to have 9 selections in this draft.

4.) Dede Westbrook WR Oklahoma: The Eagles want Westbrook to complete their offense enough to give up OLdepth to get him. Flat out, I don't trust Torrey Smith to stretch the field anymore. He might be serviceable next year, but we need that DJax type guy for years to come, and we get it without spending a high pick on a guy like John Ross. Westbrook ran a 4.44, but if you watch his tape he is more like a 4.3. May as well double dip on the Oklahoma troubled youths eh? Kidding...his incident was false. He didn't actually do anything wrong unlike Mixon. After this selection, the Eagles can feel secure about their offense and transition to mostly defense for the rest of the draft.

5.) Jourdan Lewis CB Michigan: With 2 outside guys already drafted and ready to go, Lewis is a flyer pick with a lot of potential to be a great slot corner. He'd go higher if there wasn't character concerns and questions about his size. Getting him here is a steal.

6.) John Johnson S Boston College: Johnson is a small school prospect with an intriguing physique and body of work. At 6'1 200 pounds, he has good ball skills and is an able and willing tackler. He isn't anything special but would be a major improvement over Jaylen Watkins. This give Schwartz more freedom to place Jenkins in the slot if necessary, without sacrificing anything significant.

7.) Brad Seaton OT Villanova: Maybe someone salivates over his physical nature or build, but Seaton honestly belongs this far down in the draft. He is a project player. He has a lot of physical tools, and if he can handle the game mentally and refine his technique, he can be a solid backup or maybe even a decent starter. don't underestimate any pick, they all have value. Mills was a steal last year and maybe Seaton is a 7th round steal as well.
