Bradford Files: Retirement over Ridicule?

How many offensive schemes and offensive coordinators has he been through in his career? I think like 3 in St. Louis (from what I recall) and 2 here (including this new regime) with one more change upcoming because Eagles have just drafted their franchise Qb. He's not lacking for money and if he feels that he's been betrayed by the Eagles or blind-sided by what happened, he might just decide to hang it up. There were reports of him seriously considering hanging it up even while he had his injuries in St. Louis, and if he feels that this situation is just not something he wants to be a part of, and feels like now his chances throughout the league have taken a hit, he might just decide to hang it up rather than deal with ridicule and controversy.

He has more money than anyone could need to sustain himself and his future generations, so why risk injury and well-being to fight an uphill battle?

Retirement is the most logical conclusion from the unfolding of the events that have taken place recently. He doesn't feel any deep connections in the organization pulling him towards returning (there's a report that only one teammate has reached out to him so far), and the rest of the league doesn't seem to enamored by the position he has taken (see MMQB quote), so why not just ride off in the sunset now? Why risk getting injured when you don't feel motivated to play for a team? If your heart is not in football, it's better to get out, because it is an unforgiving sport.

I think he's truly taking this time to consider all options and I'm sure he's going over whatever penalties he might have if he would retire, and it probably won't make a big dent on his wallet, so I'm sure finances won't factor into his decision. Now it's just about when he makes his decision. If he decided to just not having to deal with all this mess if he came back and his character being questioned (for who? for what?), then he might just hang it up. It might not be worth it for him to try to latch on to another team for a short-term deal when the demand is not that great right now. It is still possible that he decides to return or he gets traded but those seem like distant possibilities compared to the more attractive possibility of hanging it up and enjoying all the money you made. Especially if he doesn't feel like competing anymore.
