You know how you always see the top prospects in the NFL Draft talking on the phone with teams right before they're officially drafted? The Philadelphia Eagles posted a video of their phone call with No. 2 overall pick Carson Wentz on their website. I can't embed it here, so you have to click here to watch it.
In order, Wentz talks with executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman (of course Howie was first), team chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie, head coach Doug Pederson, offensive coordinator Frank Reich, and quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo.
Wentz seems surprisingly calm during the whole thing. Pederson even noted that. Then again, Wentz had like an entire week to know the Birds traded up to go get him at No. 2. Still, it had to be surreal for him. It's a big spotlight for the kid who grew up in North Dakota.
If Wentz goes on to become a franchise quarterback, this will be a moment that's treasured by Eagles fans. If he's a bust, well, let's just forget it ever happened.
One thing's for sure: Sam Bradford's feelings are going to be so hurt when he sees this.
