New Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has had quite the spring. Once perceived by many as a borderline first-round pick, Wentz rocketed up draft boards en route to the second overall pick. Now that he's officially an Eagle, it's worth taking a coach's-eye view at what made him so appealing to Doug Pederson and Howie Roseman.
Earlier in the draft process, Wentz joined ESPN analyst and former head coach (and former Eagles assistant coach) Jon Gruden on the ESPN draft show Gruden's QB Camp. Wentz broke down some plays from his time at North Dakota State, and even ran a few plays out on the field.
Wentz looks impressive, both with his knowledge of the plays and concepts Gruden talks about, and on the field. It might be a while before Eagles fans see Wentz on the field, but in the meantime there's plenty to like here.
