Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick tore his ACL and MCL. He will miss the entire 2015 NFL season, according to multiple reports. Scandrick suffered the injury during the Cowboys' training camp practice on Tuesday evening.
Losing Scandrick for the year is obviously a big blow to the Cowboys. The 28-year-old is the best defensive back on the team's roster and arguably one of the best players on the Dallas defense. In 2014, Scandrick finished with 56 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and nine passes defensed. With Scandrick out, there could be more pressure on Cowboys' first round pick Byron Jones to step up as a rookie.
The Philadelphia Eagles first play the Cowboys in Week 2 of the 2015 NFL regular season. Dallas will already be without at least two key players for that game: defensive end Greg Hardy (four game suspension) and inside linebacker Rolando McClain (four game suspension). Now Scandrick will be out as well.
The Eagles also play the Cowboys in Week 9.
