Happy Thanksgiving, Bleeding Green Nation. Here's hoping you have a great holiday.
Today is obviously a busy day for the Philadelphia Eagles as they play the Detroit Lions. Let's pass the time together while we wait for kickoff to get here. Before you start your delicious Thanksgiving meal, take a second to stop by and tell us here at BGN something that you are thankful for. It can be anything you want it to be about.
Allow me to start: I'm thankful for all those who choose to read and support BGN. This is my third Thanksgiving as the head of the site, which is pretty crazy to me. I can't believe it's gone by so fast.
We've come so far as a community. Last year I bragged about how BGN was consistently a top three site. Well, now it's the No. 1 football blog on SB Nation. It's actually the most popular SB Nation site period, aside from the MMA blogs. We reached 64 million page views within the last year after finishing with 27 million in the previous year. Last year I also bragged about how BGN Radio, our site's podcast, averaged 3,000 listens per show. Now that number is up to about 10,000 per episode. The success we've had with BGN Radio has even earned us our own live radio show on 97.5 The Fanatic. None of this success would be possible without you. You guys are a part of something special here.
Unfortunately for Eagles fans, it's hard to be thankful about the team right now. The Eagles are having a very disappointing season and there's a lot of negativity surrounding this team. Serious questions are being raised about the future of this franchise. I can't sit here and tell you that everything is going to work out, but I do know that BGN will always be here no matter what happens. We'll get through this together.
Thank you, and have a great holiday.
