This firing doesn't come as a surprise. Philbin has seemingly been on the hot seat for a while now, and the 1-3 Dolphins have looked pretty terrible to start this season. Taking over for Philbin as interim head coach is Miami tight ends coach Dan Campbell.
This news is relevant to the Philadelphia Eagles because the Birds are scheduled to play the Dolphins in a month at home on Nov. 15. Also coming to town will be former Eagles quarterback coach and current Dolphins offensive coordinator Bill Lazor.
