First of all, this post is completely hypothetical. I don't know if the Eagles really wanted Jordan or if the dolphins even somewhat wanted to trade him but let's assume that it's true that all the dolphins wanted was a first round pick and Brandon graham for Dion Jordan and that the Eagles declined.
With the Eagles first round pick they got Marcus Smith II but also traded down to get an extra third round pick. With that pick they got Jaylen Watkins. So, if we accepted this trade we would lose those two as well as possibly losing Taylor Hart. So let's assume that if the Eagles did accept this trade they would lose Smith II and Jaylen Watkins. So they would lose Brandon Graham, Jaylen Watkins, and Marcus Smith II but gain Dion Jordan.
So, the question is would you give up that much for Dion Jordan. My answer is yes. I know that Smith has a lot of potential but he has not looked all that good in preseason(which I know doesn't show much) and Jordan has a lot more potential and raw talent then him. Graham doesn't fit our defensive scheme and does not get much playing time for us. Jaylen Watkins has looked unimpressive in camp and in preseason(again, I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything but I don't see him getting much playing time in the next few years)
I know this is all hypothetical and kind of dumb but I was bored and thinking about what could have happened if we accepted that trade for Dion Jordan instead of declining it.
