Hello and welcome to my predicted win-loss totals for every NFL team. I have predicted the outcomes of all 256 regular season games plus the playoffs and am ready to share my results. Below you will find your team's division standings and complete regular season schedule plus the playoffs, if applicable. You will also find breakdowns of your team's key games in 2014. Please note that I tried to be unbiased and fair in these predictions, but also note that someone had to lose. If I give your team a bad record or your least favorite team a good one, it does not mean that I like any team better than the other.
Predicted 2014 NFC East Division Standings
(Click on a team's name to see their version
of this article)
1. Philadelphia Eagles 11-5(+1)
2. Washington Redskins 6-10(+3)
3. New York Giants 5-11(-2)
4. Dallas Cowboys 3-13(-5)
As you can see, the Eagles come out on top and move on to the playoffs with an 11-5 record, one win better than last year. That is more due to the regression of the rest of the division than the Eagles improving. Now here is the full Eagles schedule for 2014 and a breakdown of the key games.
Eagles Predicted 2014 Schedule
Week 1: Win vs. Jaguars
Week 2: Loss at Colts
Week 3: Win vs. Redskins
Week 4: Loss at 49ers
Week 5: Win vs. Rams
Week 6: Win vs. Giants
Week 7: BYE
Week 8: Win at Cardinals
Week 9: Win at Texans
Week 10: Win vs. Panthers
Week 11: Loss at Packers
Week 12: Win at Titans
Week 13: Win at Cowboys
Week 14: Loss vs. Seahawks
Week 15: Win vs. Cowboys
Week 16: Loss at Redskins
Week 17: Win at Giants
Week 8: at Cardinals
This is a rematch of the game last season, which featured the Eagles holding off a Cardinals comeback to win at home. This time, it is the Cardinals hosting, with both teams hosting playoff ambitions. The Eagles grab an early lead and hold off the Cardinals offense for most of the game, stealing a win on the road.
Week 11: at Packers
This game directly affects the Eagles playoff seeding. If the Eagles win, they go on to clinch the NFC no. 3 seed with a 12-4 record. If the Packers win, they do the same. This game is a shootout from the beginning, as both teams score plenty of points early. The pace eventually slows down, and the Packers score late to seal the win.
Week 16: at Redskins
The Eagles march into Washington hoping to improve their playoff position. A win puts them in prime position to snatch up the NFC no. 3 seed over the Packers. The Redskins, at this point, are out of the playoffs and playing for pride and some momentum to get them rolling into next season. The Eagles take an early lead against the below-average Redskins defense and start to play a little more conservative. The Eagles let the Redskins offense get rolling, and after a few big plays by RGIII and the rest of the offense, the game is all tied up. A late field goal seals it for the Redskins and sends the Eagles home with a loss.
Week 17: at Giants
The Eagles come into this game locked into the no. 4 seed, with the Giants out of the playoffs altogether, but that doesn't make this rivalry game any less intriguing. The Eagles won at home against the Giants earlier in the season, and the Giants look to split the season series 1-1 at home. The teams play close for most of the game, but a late offensive surge by the Eagles sends them to the playoffs with a win.
1. New Orleans Saints (14-2)
2. Seattle Seahawks (14-2)
3. Green Bay Packers (12-4)
4. Philadelphia Eagles (11-5)
5. San Francisco 49ers (13-3)
6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (10-6)
Wild Card Round
Eagles vs. 49ers
The Eagles head into this game hoping to get through to the Divisional Round after the crushing defeat at the hands of the Saints in the Wild Card game last season. It will not be easy though, as the win has to come against the very talented 49ers, which the Eagles lost to on the road earlier in the season. Fortunately, the Eagles get home field advantage this time around. The game gets off to a slow start, with both offenses putting up only a field goal in the first half. Then the 49ers break through in the 3rd and score a touchdown, and the Eagles fail to respond. Both teams score again in the 4th, but it is not enough for the Eagles, who end their playoff run in the Wildcard Round for the second year in a row, while the 49ers go on to face the eventual Super Bowl Champion Saints after winning 17-10.
Team MVP: LeSean McCoy, RB
McCoy will be the central piece in this offense and will contribute more to this team than anyone else.
Important Player Stats:
Nick Foles, QB: 4,278 yds, 24 tds, 9 ints
LeSean McCoy, RB: 1,567 yds, 14 tds, 38 rec, 677 yds, 5 tds
Jeremy Maclin, WR: 78 rec, 1,245 yds, 8 tds
Jordan Matthews, WR: 56 rec, 756 yds, 3 tds
Chip Kelly's Job Security Going Into 2015:
Even with the playoff losses, Chip Kelly has done a tremendous job coaching the Eagles so far, and his job should still be fairly safe in 2015. But if the Eagles lose in the Wild Card Round again, or they miss the playoffs altogether, expect his seat to get a little warmer.
The Eagles' get the number 24 overall pick in 2015 and will most likely use it to add a defensive play maker, as they are pretty much set on offense.
Well, that is my take on the upcoming Eagles season. Please remember that I cannot see into the future, and I will most likely be wrong about many predictions in this article (but if I turn out to be right, remember me). If you disagree with me, feel free to share your opinions in the comments, I look forward to it. And check out my predictions for the other teams on their blogs as they are posted, I put a lot of work into this; I want it to be seen by as many people as possible. Thanks for reading.
