Any Interest in Andre Johnson? - Iggles Blitz
If the Texans put Johnson on the market, should the Eagles have interest? No. If the question was simply about Johnson, the answer would be yes. But he’s not a free agent. Compensation is a factor. Johnson is a band-aid. I would not give up a pick for him. He’s older and expensive. Is he a good player? Yes. But the Eagles don’t need a workhorse WR, which is what Johnson is best at.
#7- Joe Flacco carrying Philip Rivers up the Stairs - ChipWagon
Funny stuff. I do realize that Mike is exaggerating to make a point, but I must admit it still bothers me that we still need to obsess over how much the potential of Chip's offense is limited without a running QB. We heard that all last offseason as the reason why Foles wasn't a fit in Chip's offense, and after a Pro Bowl year, we are still hearing it in some circles. (Note, I am not calling out Mike here. I think Mike understands the dynamics of Chip's offense as well as anyone, based on his excellent piece in the 2013 Eagles Almanac).
Wake-Up Call: Jaws On Challenges Ahead - Birds 24/7
"I will guarantee you this: every pass that he threw last year was studied and watched by 30 personnel guys with the three teams in this division. They studied Nick Foles to every possible nuance: Where is his foot when he is coming out from under center? Does his heel come up a split second before the snap? Does he flick his hand to get into position before the ball is snapped? They will study every nuance of his game on coaches tape, on television to hear his voice inflection, to see where he turns. Is the ball snapped when his head is looking downfield rather than left to right? All these things, they will have broken his game down. Nick has to make that adjustment. Now that teams have adjusted to him, does he adjust to what they do?
NFC East Camp Capsule: It's all on Romo all the time - The700Level
The Cowboys defense was horrid last season. The unit ranked 27th in the NFL against the run, 30th against the pass and dead last in total yards. Only one team, the Chicago Bears, surrendered more ground per play. Only six teams allowed more scoring. The trouble starts up front. Dallas’ front seven got pushed around in the running game, allowing 4.7 yards per carry—third highest total in the league. Their pass-rush was ineffective as well, recording just 34 sacks—three more than last place. And it certainly looks like things are only going to get worse.
Book On Bennie: Arrow Is Up - PE.com
Bennie Logan has grown into this job. He's a 315-pound (give a cheesesteak or two) second-year player the Eagles are counting on to man the middle of their defensive line ...
Shady No. 5 in NFL Top 100, but more vital than Nick? - Philly.com
IT'S ONE OF THOSE great summer beach-chair debates, to be pondered and argued and even dreaded a bit as you stuff a cold drink into a coozie and take your swings at the greenheads. LeSean McCoy or Nick Foles? Who's more valuable to the Eagles right now?
Blogger hired to defend Redskins name resigns after two weeks - CBS
The lifespan of an NFL player's career can be short. The lifespan of an NFL blogger's career? It can be even shorter. Just ask Ben Tribbett, the liberal political blogger hired by the Redskins on June 26, 2014, who tweeted his plans to resign on Monday night. In a series of tweets, Tribbett blamed "personal" "political attacks" that caused him to become a "distraction" for his resignation.
Andre Johnson 'isn't going anywhere' - SB Nation
Houston has a problem. However, John McClain, reporter for the Houston Chronicle, believes it will work itself out in time with Johnson remaining on the Texans' roster.
