As I am sure you are all aware. This Thursday is the NFL draft giving us hopes and a little cure to our depression from the absence of football. What makes it even better? How deep this class is. I personally feel like I haven't seen a draft class this deep in years. So that leads me to this.. If we aren't going Watkins ( we all wish ), Mike Evans, or Beckham Jr, then waiting until the second our third round is a must. While those three receivers all would make great targets, lets assume that all are of the board at the 22nd overall pick and that the eagles decided not to make a draft day move. The most similar and likely two receivers that the Eagles would jump on, would be Brandon Cooks and Marquise Lee. Both of these two remind of our beloved DeSean Jackson. Not necessarily skill wise because it is obviously to early to state something like that, but more on the fact of their build and speed. The Eagles also need defensive help. If a solid corner like Kyle Fuller or someone of that nature is left or even Clinton Dix falls for some odd draft day reason, I would be much more confident in drafting them. It all comes down to this. If those first three WR's are off the board, using a first round pick on one of the remaining is senseless, because after that first tier of receivers, tier two isn't ahead of any other receiver by a landslide. Where is all this leading me? To possibly the most underrated WR or even skill position player in the entire draft. Allen Robinson. This kid has UNBELIEVABLE talent and is being evaluated as a second or third round pick. Lets take a second and compare his stats to someone who was in recent talk with the Eagles. Mike Evans
The stats are there. So is the potential. If the Eagles do plan to get a Desean replacement. Don't be afraid to look out of the first round. I am all in on Allen Robinson.
