NFL Schedule 2014: Eagles Open as Biggest Week One Favorites

Phil Sears-USA TODAY Sports

The Eagles are favored to beat the Jaguars big in Week 1.

For the first time in four years (2010, vs. Packers), the Philadelphia Eagles will open their season schedule with a home game. The Birds will square off against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are led by former Eagles coach Gus Bradley. The opening lines have already been released and the Eagles are the biggest favorite of Week 1; they're actually favored to win by 11 points.

It's easy to see why they're favored. The Eagles are division champions and coming off a successful 10-6 season. The Jaguars finished as the third worst team while playing in the worst division in football. There's still a lot that can still change between now and September 7th: the 2014 NFL draft, injuries, player development, signings, cuts, etc. But for now it's fun to see the Eagles getting some offseason respect.

The next biggest line involves the Colts as 7 point road underdogs to the Broncos. As far as the rest of the NFC East goes, no teams are favored in Week 1. The New York Giants are underdogs at Detroit (-4), the Washington Redskins are underdogs at the Texans (-2.5), and the Dallas Cowboys are only one of three homes teams not to be favored (the visiting 49ers are -3.5).
