It looks like DeSean Jackson won't be returning with the Eagles next year. I personally think they should keep Jackson but there are probably reasons to trade him that we don't know about. There have been a couple teams linked to him such as the Jets, Patriots, 49ers, Panthers, Raiders, and the Seahawks. The Niners, Panthers, Patriots, and Seahawks are all good teams and will have low draft picks in this years draft. So, the Eagles should try to get a higher pick from the Raiders or Jets.
One interesting trade scenario that could end up taking place is this: the Eagles trade the Raiders Desean and a second for the Raiders first rounder. Oakland has the number five pick in the draft and the Eagles could pick Jackson's replacement, Sammy Watkins. This would give the Eagles two first round picks to work with which would allow them to pick another high-caliber player. However, they would be without a second rounder and this is a very deep draft. I also don't know if the Raiders would accept that trade. They might ask for a swap of firsts of this trade was to be offered.
I do think that this would be a pretty good trade for both sides and I think that the Raiders have a lot of interest in Jackson. I still don't think that the Eagles should be shopping Jackson after a career year but I trust the front office. I think it would be idiotic of the Eagles to trade Jackson for only a third round pick and I can live with them trading him for only a second rounder. I think if the Eagles are trading for draft picks they should trade with the Raiders or Jets for higher picks and so that it doesn't make there competition in the NFC more difficult.
