Shock the World !

I know we did it once, but that was with Banner and Reid at the helm, let's do it again with smarter people running the show.

Trades

Cut

That's $22 million in additional cap room (subtracted dead $ from cap figure for each player), and brings our total cap space to $42 million.

Own Free Agents

  • Re-sign Maclin (tag him if necessary, he's gonna have a breakout season) and Cooper (not overpaying though)
  • Nate Allen if he comes cheap.
  • Of course Donnie Jones.

Draft Picks

1st Round

  • Johnny Manziel, QB (from top 5 pick acquired for Nick the Kid)
  • Marqise Lee, WR (mid-1st rounder acquired for DeSean)
  • Jordan Matthews, WR (22nd pick) [this selection was changed from Justin Gilbert]

2nd Round

  • De'Anthony Thomas, OW (this guy was supposed to go in the 1st round last year, and Chip knows how valuable he is and doesn't want to take the risk of not being able to get him later)

De'Anthony Thomas Career Highlights (via madmike1951)

Let's just stop for a moment and take it in... we've re-signed Maclin and Cooper and added Marqise Lee and Matthews to the WR front. Manziel the wild card at QB with Barkley as his backup. And then you add De'Anthony Thomas as an offensive weapon with Shady, Bryce and Polk already on this team. Celek and Ertz as your top 2 TE's. Now we got something going.

Safety, CB, NT, LB, DE: You can add mid level players through Free Agency and later draft picks and they'll be better than what we had last year. Or maybe make one big splash in free agency as well.

Who's going to stop that offense ?
And that defense will be much better as well.

And then I woke up....
