If he was a "miss" at 4-3 DE....and he can't convert to 3-4 OLB, then is he trade bait? Personally, I'm not sure he had enough snaps by the end of the season to make a definitive assessment. But, if the Eagles would consider Vic Beasley at pick #22 that is very telling about the future of Graham as an Eagle.(IMO)
Dream scenario: the Birds have seen enough of him to know he has a future as rush OLB in our system, and his inability to make more plays is a indictment of our current 3-4 DEs to make pressure...freeing up the OLB to wreak havoc. Yes, I know Trent Cole played well at times this year, but the baton needs to be passed onto Graham if he can play. In that case we need to upgrade at DE (Truitt or Trent Murphy anyone???)
As much as I would like to see Vic Beasley in Eagle Green, it's also sad to know we had to go that direction b/c Graham never stepped up.
My opinion: This OLB position is key to our entire draft. I am concerned we may wind up "reaching" for need at OLB if our top picks are gone....certainly wouldn't be the first time that happened.
Any comments regarding a current "undersized" college DE who could fill the rush OLB need in round 3? (Someone like Marcus Smith from Louisville?). Then we could go elsewhere at pick #22. Side note: I would also like to fleece Louisville of their 2 safeties..but that's for another post..
