Rumor: Jeremy Maclin to re-sign with the Eagles

USA TODAY Sports

Take it for what it's worth.

Earlier today, it was discussed how impending-free-agent Eagles receiver Jeremy Maclin wants to return to Philadelphia. Now, a rumor has emerged that Maclin will indeed re-sign with the Eagles. From 97.5 The Fanatic radio host Jason Ashworth:

This report is far from official at this point, so take it with a grain of salt. If it's true, that's certainly good news for the Eagles. Maclin's departure would leave a hole at wide receiver. If the Eagles get a deal done with the talented wideout before the new league year (March 11, 2014), the team doesn't have to worry about losing him in free agency.

It remains to be seen what kind of deal the Eagles would offer to Maclin. Originally drafted by the team in 2009, Maclin is scheduled to turn 26 in May. He missed the entire 2013 NFL season after suffering a torn ACL in late July during Eagles training camp.
