Football Character - Tommy Lawlor, Iggles Blitz
As the Eagles head into the offseason, there will be a lot of talk about high character guys. This breaks down into a couple of categories. First, there are those players who are legitimately good people. You’d want these guys as a neighbor, friend or relative. You’d trust your kids with them. There is also football character. You want players that are tough, coachable, good teammates and ultra-competitive. They may not be model citizens, but they can still be model football players.
With DRC thinking of retiring, let's name the Eagles' 'Mount Rushmore' of players who didn't like football - JimmyK, Philly.com
If an alien spaceship came to Earth looking for an athletic specimen to bring back with them to the mothership, and it landed at Lehigh University in August of 2011 or 2012, the odds-on favorite for who the aliens would choose would be Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. At Eagles training camp, DRC was amazing. He was easily one of the 3 fastest players on the team, could out-jump pretty much anybody, and just had smooth, effortless way in which he moved. He was (and still is) one of the true gifted athletes in the NFL.
Cap Expert Weighs In On Eagles - Tim McManus, Birds 24/7
Jason Avant ($2.25 million base plus $1 million roster bonus): "Another one I can potentially see depending on what happens with the receivers, but they don’t have much leeway [in terms of time] because of the roster bonus due on the fifth day [of the league year.] You’re not going to pay him the roster bonus and then cut him."
Video: Jeremy Maclin running sprints at Eagles practice facility | The700Level
The Philadelphia Eagles tweeted this Instagram video of the wide receiver running sprints at the NovaCare Comlex on Monday, and he appears to be moving around pretty well. Maclin missed all of 2013 with a torn ACL suffered in training camp.

One week to get ready for one game also means plenty of new angles on the same old stories. Eric Sollenberger has a handy guide to the week in narratives.
Why Eagles can't renegotiate Nick Foles' contract - Reuben Frank, CSN Philly
One of the most frequent questions Eagles fans ask these days is why haven’t the Eagles renegotiated the contract of Foles, who had a record-setting year and will play in the Pro Bowl today in Hawaii. Simply, they can’t. Contract inequities such as Foles earning less than Clausen, who has fewer than half as many touchdown passes in 10 NFL starts (three) as Foles had against the Raiders, are a product of the most recent Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Welcome to Super Bowl week, which brings back all kinds of memories for me from our 2004 team that won the NFC Championship and played in Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville, Fla. It was a week and an experience that I have never forgotten and that I will never forget. The Super Bowl experience was the No. 1 best and the No. 1 worst experience of my football career. I wouldn’t take it back for anything. It was beyond my wildest dreams to reach the game, and then to lose it, and the resulting feeling, it was crushing.
