Players to watch
Pierre Desir CB 6'2" 206 Lindenwood
Small school guy with all the physical tools. Really intriguing player with great length and athletic as a press cover man. Have heard good things about him so far this week and has been said to be taking coaching well which can't be understated especially for a small school guy. Can't wait to see him go in a game environment against top-level competition. Day 2 pick at this point and arrow seems to be point up.
Jordan Zumwalt ILB 6'4" 235 UCLA
From what I have heard and saw I love this guy. Plays with so much intensity he was asked to dial it back so he doesn't kill someone at practice. How can you not like that? Heard him compared very favorably to the Bills second rounder from last year Kiko Alonso. Would like to see if he could put on 10 to 15 more pounds but seems to have the frame to do it. I think he could be a steal in the mid rounds and be an eventual replacement for DeMeco Ryans.
Aaron Donald DT 6'0" 285 Pittsburgh
Been best player in Mobile from what I have read. Absolute dominance. 3 Tech so don't know where he would fit as an Eagle but still looking forward to watching him play.
Christian Jones ILB 6'4" 235 Florida State
Really interesting player. Played OLB and even sometimes with his hand in the dirt at FSU and ended up at ILB. Can rush the passer and cover. Can he be the eventual replacement for DeMeco? He seems to have the length and athletic ability Chip likes, and could add the bulk.
Dee Ford DE 6'2" 240 Auburn
Awarded Most outstanding DL of the senior bowl so far. Doesn't have great length but adequate enough. I want to see him in coverage. Can he be that young pass rushing 3-4 OLB we need. Probably won't test as well as his teammate last year Corey Lemonier but I think he is a better football player. I think this week puts him firmly in the second round and most likely a top 50 player. Would love to see him fall to us in the second.
Adrian Hubbard OLB 6'6" 252 Alabama
One of my favorite prospects that everyone else seems to hate. Last year people were talking about him being a top ten prospect this year, but after a disastrous season he is now being talked about as a day 3 pick. I don't think that talent just goes away. I heard a theory on him about how he was playing to not get hurt this year very similar to Jadeveon Clowney. He has great length and almost looks like Aldon Smith physically. I am still a believer and feel he can be a starter in this league and could be a major steal in this draft.
Joel Bitonio OG 6'4" 315 Nevada
Best OL no one is talking about. Very versatile player who played OT in college but may be best suited to play OG at the NFL level. I think he can step in from day one and start as a guard or at least be a high end backup and eventual starter. From what I have read he has been winning nearly all of his matchups this week. I can't wait to see him go up against Aaron Donald. Day two pick and could be a eventual replacement for Herremans.
Kevin Norwood WR 6'2" 195 Alabama
He might end up being a late round pick but I think he will stick in the league. I think he is a move the chains type of player and was never used to his full potential at Alabama. Might be a good late round value and I'm interested to see what he can do away from Alabama.
Deandre Coleman DT 6'5" 315 California
A guy who has quietly been very impressive from what I have read and heard. Known for his run stuffing ability he has been said to be more athletic than expected. I think he can be a solid starter at the 5 Tech in time and at least be a good backup to Ced Thornton from the jump. Had a disappointing senior year so his stock is down but could end up being a steal on day three.
Jaylen Watkins CB 6'0" 194 Florida
Getting pretty much rave reviews. Is he a FS or a corner? Most underrated player in that talented Florida secondary this year.
