So my girlfriend got me tickets to Eagles-Redskins game in November for my birthday. I know it's far away but I am sooo excited you would not even believe. Anyway, as I live pretty far from Philly I have never had the chance to see my beloved Eagles live. In fact, I've never even been to an NFL game.
So my question to all those in Philly is: what should I look out for? What are good places to visit while I'm there? Nice restaurants to eat at? I'll definitely be grabbing a Philly cheese steak at some point just for the novelty, so what is the best place in town?
And as for the game itself, what should I look out for? How exactly does tailgating work (do you have to pay, or do you have to legally pay but can loophole your way in, etc etc?)? I'm a little nervous because I've heard the fans can get a little rowdy, as I read in another thread on this blog (the Nate Allen one I believe). But as long as I'm wearing my jersey, no one will puke on us, right? Even if Mcnabb's name is on the back, right, right?!
I'm basically just looking for any general advice on how to maximize the weekend. I'll be there from Friday to Tuesday. Any help would be greatly appreciated and if you guys would be interested I'll definitely make a fanpost of my experience.
