There were many flashes in tonight's Eagles game. Michael Vick out of all quarterbacks has shown the most flashes. Vick threw a long bomb to the right to DeSean Jackson for a 47 yard touchdown. You wren't going to see too many flashes from any particular quarterback this game due to the constant rotation Chip Kelly has in place. Nick Foles substituted in at the near end of the first quarter. Nick Foles showed some flashes but not too many as he's thrown mostly short-ranged passes. There were some flashes in Matt Barkley tonight as he threw with good accuracy to only have majority of his passes dropped by his intended targets. Out of all quarterbacks that competed tonight, I'd say that Michael Vick is potentially the leader of the pack at the moment. He showed poise, athleticism, and some play making ability. Though it wasn't where it made him the clear cut option to be a starter. However, there are more flashes other than the quarterback position.
Chip Kelly. There were no wasted timeouts, unbalanced attacks between the rush and the pass, and no eccentric challenges. If Chip can keep this up, the Birds are in goods hands.
There weren't many flashes on defense if there were any flashes at all. The defense is just how they call it "A work in progress". The only player on defense who really stood out was second-year player Vinny Curry. He was constantly getting in the backfield and rushing the passer. Those are some good signs right there. The secondary got torched at times but wasn't a disaster. If this quarterback competition stays at the same pace that it's going then that's where the trouble will begin.
