Practice notes, Riley Cooper returns and has a great day - Jimmy Kempski, Philly.com
Chris Polk continues to be awesome. He had another long run today. I was standing next to Dan Klausner, Eagles intern extraordinaire, and he remarked that Polk does a good job of "getting skinny" when he bursts through the line. What he means by that is that he gets low and thin. He does a good job of getting his arms in tight and not running upright. This gives the defense less of a target to hit. It may be premature to start thinking about Polk as the #2 back before they've even played a preseason game, but Polk is at the very least a major threat to take away some of Bryce Brown's carries. That's not to say Brown has not been good. Polk has just been outstanding.

So What Exactly Did Riley Cooper Do During His Excused Absence? - Andrew Kulp, The 700 Level
The team never put a timetable on Cooper’s return, but it felt like he would be away for awhile, at least until after the first preseason game however arbitrary that may seem. All told the fourth-year veteran was gone for four days, missing just three practices. I mean, how much emotional help can one receive in such a short amount of time?

DeSean Jackson catches pretty much everything thrown in his direction and there hasn’t been a defensive back – Eagle or Patriot -- that’s been able to run with him.
Making Sense of the Quarterback Battle, Utilizing The Tight Ends, and Replacing Maclin - Eric Galko, Optimum Scouting
"I’ve decided to tackle three big topics on the offense, focusing on the quarterback battle from a scouting/game-planning perspective, how Chip Kelly will use his incredibly talented tight end unit, and how the Eagles have gone about replacing Jeremy Maclin."
