Are we Harboring Clay? (Lame, I know..)
I'm not really a giant fan of any of our TE's right now, as they all have their faults and upsides, but I'm trying to figure out why Clay Harbor is he not one of the top TE's on our team. Since he's been drafted in 2010, he has improved on his pass catching, route running, and blocking technique year in and out. Andy Reid hardly utilized him and I've always questioned why not, especially after last off-season he improved his hands to the point where he hardly dropped a pass the entire off-season. Also the guy is a straight physical specimen at 6"3 250lbs with the speed he runs at and his capability to block and his versatility since they are now getting him reps at WR.
I'm not suggesting he is the next Shannon Sharpe but I think he's talented enough to get more reps and be the number 2 TE, especially in light of Celek and Casey dropping balls and Ertz not being able to block. I'm just looking for someone to explain why he hasn't been utilized more and why isn't he at the very least the 3rd TE option on the team. I just don't get why he's barely clinging to a roster spot, anybody care to explain?
