Philadelphia Eagles Training Camp 2013 Notes - Rookies and Selected Vets Practice - Me, BGN

My observations from yesterday's practice. Notes on Michael Vick, Earl Wolff, and more.

Eagles training camp 2013: Day 2 recap - Jimmy Kempski, Philly.com

On the first actual "practice" at training camp, the Eagles were only operating with 29 players, which does not make for a very active practice. No loud music, no 7-on-7's, not a whole lot of activity in general. That will change once the rest of the vets join the rookies for practice on Friday.

James Casey Ready To Excel In Offense - Danta Klaus, PhiladelphiaEagles.com

"Tight end James Casey was the Eagles’ first target in free agency, the apple of head coach Chip Kelly’s eye and a prototypical Swiss Army knife-type of weapon. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound Casey is listed as a tight end, but he is really a positional hybrid, and his role within the Eagles offense will be multi-faceted and expansive."

Eagles (Abbreviated) Practice Observations - Sheil Kapadia, Birds 24/7

Sheil's practice notes include some good pictures of what went on at training camp yesterday. Plus, a nugget on Jeff Stoutland and the offensive line.

Michael Vick: 'I embrace the competition' - Reuben Frank, CSN Philly

Vick: "I embrace the competition. I really do. It makes all of us better quarterbacks. It makes all of us better football players. It definitely pushes me."

Who has final say – Kelly or Roseman? - Jeff McLane, Philadelphia Inqurier

"Typically, it is the head coach. But Roseman has considerably more power in football matters than he did under Andy Reid. That being said, Albert Breer of the NFL Network wrote last month, citing two NFL sources, that Kelly would have final say. And yet, when Roseman was asked who will have the last word on which players make the team, he danced around the question on Monday."
