It may seem a little strange for us to report on a backup player on another team, but Will Hill can play. In fact, I did a film breakdown of Hill during the season last year. He's a very physical safety who excelled on special teams last year, and was likely to see a much bigger role on the Giants' defense this season, after they let Kenny Phillips walk in free agency.
The Giants' projected starters at safety are Antrel Rolle and Stevie Brown, but because the Giants utilize a lot of 3-safety sets, Hill is more than just a backup. Without Hill in the fold, the Giants are down to warm body Ryan Mundy, wet paper towel knees Terrell Thomas, marginal pro Tyler Sash, and 5th round rookie Cooper Taylor as depth at safety.
The Eagles play the Giants Week 5, the week Hill will be eligible to return to action.
