Pete Prisco of CBS recently wrote a feature where he highlighted the most overrated and underrated players on every NFL team. Prime NFL off-season material.
Here are his picks for the Eagles:
Overrated: WR DeSean Jackson. Yes, the ability is there. But where is the production? He had 45 catches last season, two for touchdowns. That's not good enough, even if he did play only 11 games.
I actually think this is a reasonable pick. I can't see another player on the Eagles roster that I would pick for this. Maybe Michael Vick, but he has fair share of detractors. Or at least so I've heard. I'd also consider Cary Williams, but he's new to the team. Others might say Jeremy Maclin. They're all fair choices.
Don't get me wrong - I like DeSean. He's a special talent. It would be nice to see him the endzone more. Stretching the defense is all fine and good, but just being a decoy isn't always enough. It'll be interesting to see how Chip uses him. He also hasn't been the same punt returner threat he used to be. Part of this is because he hasn't been returning punts for whatever reason.
Underrated: OG Evan Mathis. On a bad line in 2012, he did a lot of things right. He can move. He's tough. He can also pass protect. Mathis should have been in the Pro Bowl.
I also agree with this pick. Simply put, Evan Mathis is the man. By now you've heard PFF rates him as the best OG in the NFL. Even if you don't agree with that rating, you have to admit he's been a very solid force on the OL. Plus he's a great Twitter follow (@EvanMathis69).
Brandon Graham might deserve this one as well.
Here's some of Prisco's picks for our favorite NFC East rivals.

Now we turn it over to you. Who are the most underrated/overrated Eagles? What about players on other NFL teams?
