Philadelphia is the home of the greatest sports fans in the world. We are always passionate, always invested, and always in love with our all teams. Yes, we have been known to boo every now and then (or often), and we have certainly have unfortunate incidents over the years involving our fans. However, EVERY CITY IN AMERICA has had their own incidents, as well. The only difference between them and here in Philly, though, is that our incidents get bought up in our faces every chance it seems by the national media. There's one in particular that gets bought up the most and I think everyone knows what it is.
Obviously, OBVIOUSLY, this has to stop. People in Philly once threw snowballs at Santa. WE FREAKIN' GET IT!!!!! This doesn't meant every one in the national media gets to bring this up every time the city of Philadelphia get bought up. It's insane, it's asinine, and it's just plain sickening. I meant, when we talk about LA, we don't always bring up Lakers fans rioting after a championship "celebration", nor do we bring up Browns throwing beer bottles when we talk about Cleveland, and I never a hear a word about Giants fans throwing snowballs at the Chargers when New York is mentioned.
I could go on and on, but I think I've made my point. This is an unbelievably hypocritical standard that must end. Therefore, I have appealed to the highest office in the land to end this madness. That's right: I've created a White House petition. Here's the link to it:
Together, we can make sure that any references at snowballs at a certain holiday are less and less a thing of the past which it comes to our great city. We can make a difference! Oh, and Dallas sucks! Why bring that up? Just 'cause. Thanks everyone and don't forget to sign!
