The Eagles did a great job getting a bunch of free agents with heart, that just want to play hard noise football. They still have needs in the SECONDARY, LB, O-LINE and DT. with this being said i will be giving a mock draft that i think would solve alot of the problems the eagles have not saying this could happen but hey its the draft anything is possible and this all seems reasonable in my mind.
RD1(4) and RD5(136) is traded to the Cardinals for their RD1(7), RD3(69). I see the cardinal wanting A OT and if Fisher is still on the board or if both Fisher and Joeckel are off the board the will desperately want Lane Johnson.
Trade Nick Foles to the Oakland raiders for their RD3(66) pick
RD1(7) - We Draft Star Lotulelei, NT, Utah
I see this being a good pick for us which solves are DT problem by having Lotulelei and Cox on the line makes for a dominate duo for a long time in this league. With RG3, Eli and Tony (i scramble and some how get away from everybody) we need pressure as soon as possible. This also will go along with Howies best available philosophy.
RD2(35)- We Draft E.J. Manuel, QB, Florida State
Chip Kelly said there would be competition at the quarterback position. He probably meant between the signal-caller he just retained, Dennis Dixon and whomever he drafts in Round 2 or 3. I can't see Nick Foles staying on the roster and we will use him as trade bait in this draft. With this pick he can learn from Vick and learn the offense of Chip and become a great future QB in this league.
RD3(66) Darius Slay, CB, Mississippi State
The Eagles have brought in CB's in free agency which I love, makes it very competivitve to get the starting spot. I would say they draft Slay who I like more then his teammate Banks. If you look at the tape he was targeted more at Mississippi State due to teams throwing away from banks and yet he registered five interceptions, 40 tackles and six passes broken up this yea. This shows me he doesnt shy away from the pressure and he TACKLES!!! IM SOLD!!!!
RD3(67) Barrett Jones, G/C/OT, Alabama
Barrett Jones would be a nice addition for the Eagles, who have a need of depth at the offensive line. Jones can play four positions on the offensive line which can become useful for the eagles in case of injury's and who knows maybe Jones can become a starter at RT and move Herremens into his natural position of RG
RD3(69) Travis Kelce, TE, Cincinnati
He is in my mind all-around the best tight end in this draft. We can use him immediately even though i love Celek he is declining in performance but i love the energy he bring to the team but sad to say his time in Philadelphia might be coming to an end in the near future. With the signing of James this could be a great one two punch.
RD4(101) Josh Evans, S, Florida
Eagles need competition at safety and i really like this guy he could be a sleeper/steal. Evans was solid for Florida in 2012 and led the team in tackles with 83. He also totaled three passes broken up, 2.5 sacks and three interceptions. Evans was a good run-defender and did well in pass coverage. He had 51 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, one sack, one pass breakup and one interception in 2011. Plus anything is better then Coleman at safety.
RD5(136) Joe Kruger*, DE, Utah
With the Acquisition of Barwin which I love cause of his hi motor and love for the game. I think Kruger will be a great for our new Defense, He had a quality junior season with 30 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, six sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception, a blocked kick and a pass broken up. He also played with Star Lotulelei which i see as a plus since they will know how to play together and how to benefit each other. Kruger had three sacks as a sophomore. He could be best as a 3-4 defensive end in the NFL.
RD7(210) T.J. Barnes, DT, Georgia Tech
He is measured at 6'6 and 370 pounds He can occupie blocks at the line of scrimmage and give some rest to cox or Lotulelei when needed.
RD7(218) Rontez Miles, S, California-PA
Just more competition which Chip is bringing into this camp. Making a point that no ones is safe and with the problem at SS more competition is better then none. This guy can lay the wood and plays fast and when he hits the other team they will not wanna run a route around him again.
RD7(239) Onterio McCalebb, RB, Auburn
With Trading Dion Lewis and Mccoy making Comment they will need another RB I can see the Eagles drafting an RB in the 7th round. McCalebb was a rotational runner during his career at Auburn, that's perfect since he will be doing the same with the eagles. He also ran a 4.34 40yd dash which might interest Chip.
Well this to me is a Draft i would love and could see happening not to absurd. Tell me what you guys think.
