Before anyone gets bent out of shape, in no way to past results dictate future ones. This post isn't supposed to make you want or not want us to draft a DL this year or ever. I just thought looking back on the franchises easily available draft history (up to 91') would bring up some ohh's and ahh's from the past as we wait for Free Agency to start in 6-7 days. It will also double as an indicator of how easy/difficult it is to pick good-great players. Also some players who are tweeners but listed as or not as a DL will be or not be on the list. I marked my opinion on weather the picks were good/great or not. Some guys I have no clue who they are so I used a ?. Good/Great = start for an NFL team.

I count 10 yes' out of 31 possible draft picks ( I left out Jerome and Clyde bc I threw them in even though they were drafted after 91'). That's a 32% success rate. The more I think about it, discuss the draft with BGN I am sure we are going DL in the draft. Maybe even at the number 4 pick. Remember the "Predator" is a DE/LB hybrid considered a DE in the 4-3 under. Graham/Curry fit here but you could see us draft a guy specifically to play here. Outside of that we have no NT and we are very very thin at the 3 and 5 tech. That is 4 positions that need to be addressed along the line. So we definitely will draft a DL at some point. Should we draft DL at 4? In rounds 2,3,4? Remember we need LB, CB and Safety on defense.
