Despite saying on local radio that Dashon Goldson is a long-shot for Philly, ESPN's Adam Schefter is now reporting that the Eagles are still in the mix for the San Francisco safety.
So much for being a long-shot in Philly. ESPN's Adam Schefter) is reporting that the Eagles are among four teams in the running for 49ers safety Dashon Goldson. Schefter recently told 975 The Fanatic that he didn't think Goldson would end up in Philly and that they likely would "not spend" on the Pro Bowler. According to the tonight's tweet from Schefter, the Eagles, 49ers, Lions and Bucs are all in the running to nab Goldson after all.
Goldson was reportedly long gone from San Fran earlier in the week but now it looks like they are back in the mix as well. Schefter does note that the Lions and Bucs are the most likely to sign the veteran. That makes sense considering Louis Delmas' recent comments on Detroit and the Bucs pretty awful pass defense. That said, if the Eagles are still in the mix, they are obviously not scared by Goldson's price tag.
We have speculated a lot about Goldson over the past few weeks, but what do you think is his true value? Are you willing to pay him over cheaper options like Glover Quin or Chris Clemons?
