I've put together a list of prospects projected to go undrafted that I love for us to take a chance. I haven't seen a list like this yet and I've seen so many mock draft that I'm kind of fatigued of them. Who knows we may get lucky a get James Harrison type player. I think that's highly unlikely but with great positional coaches like Bill McGovern on the staff who knows. Maybe I'm just doing a little bit of wishful thinking. Let's get into my list:
1.)Gilbert Pena /6'2 326/ NT/ Ole Miss - Why waste a pick on NT when there are so many other needs on D. We can pick up a strong NT to anchor the middle of Davis' 4-3 under, Pena gets a great push. He has great strength and leverage. He's a "60 minutes type of guy". He holds his ground against a double teams. He doesn't have many moves but he just needs to occupy space.
2.) Aaron Hester /6'2 198/ CB/ UCLA - Very fast corner with good size, great tackler who has excellent man cover skills. I believe he was victim of over zone usage at UCLA. HIs biggest issues is he hardly ever gets interceptions. He would be a great practice squad candidate.
3.)Levine Toilolo / 6-8 265/ TE/ Stanford - He is the red zone threat we all droll about. He is a brute going up for the ball. He deceptively quick and can beat you deep with his long strides. He's not a great blocker, but he catches the ball smoothly could be a steal. Guys with his skill set don't come around often and reports are saying that Chip wants to load up on tight ends. This guy would be great
4.)Jason Weaver / 6-5 313/ OT/ Southern Miss - Strong massive tackle with some mobility. Our line isn't getting any younger and developmental OT. I don't think it Jason but he would be add nice depth.
This is just the first installment. I'll add more later
