In hindsight, the writing may have been on the wall for the Eagles awful 2012 season when the news broke in early spring that All Pro LT Jason Peters has torn his achilles in an offseason workout. Then, as if the football gods wanted to be really sure we all got the omen, Peters tore the achilles again in the days after it was repaired thanks a defective piece of medical equipment.

The Eagles tried a few different guys at LT but it was really one disaster after the other as none proved to be even a serviceable starter, let alone a worthy stand in for the All Pro Peters.

Fast forward to this year and one of the big questions of the offseason is whether Peters will be back in 2013. In all likelihood, the Eagles will have a shot at a guy like Eric Fisher or Luke Joeckel in the draft, both of whom could be short and long term replacements for Peters. However, if he's healthy and ready the go, the team could be free to address other areas of the team with their top pick.

When asked about Peters' status today, Eagles GM Howie Roseman offered no specifics, but was upbeat.

"Jason's done a great job rehabbing. He works really hard, he's been around the building a lot and we're
looking forward to getting him back at some point here for 2013."

Roseman said there is "no doubt" that Peters can return to his pre-injury level of performance.

"Yeah. There is no doubt about it. Jason is, for a lack of a better term, he's a freak. He's able to do thing that not
many people on this earth are able to do. So for us it's exciting to get that kind of talent back."

It's not a lot of news, but it's good news.
