This week is simple, division Tie breakers are no longer in effect, we need to win the NFC east outright. So beat the Lions Sunday and then sit back and watch the Bears crush the Cowboys on monday night and we are on our way. While a Cowboys loss still means we need to beat them in Dallas to end the season it buys us some wiggle room, meaning we can lose a game before then and still win the division.
The Wild Card still requires some help though. The key thing to remember when diagnosing the final wild card spot is that we need every other team in contention to get to 6 loses. We currently have 5 loses so if we drop a game and don't win the division we would finish at 10-6. Winning a Wild card spot would require 2 loses from the 9ers and 1 from the Cards. We hold the tie breaker over any other 6 loss NFC east team provided we don't lose the head to head tie breaker aginast the Bears. The major thing this weekend is that the 9ers lose to the Seahawks as it is by far the toughest game left on their schedule.
Its also of some interest that both Wild card spots are still up for grabs, after this weekend either Carolina or New Orleans will have 4 losses, we would still need 2 more losses form one of them which is kinda unlikely but not completely out of the question.
