Eagles vs. Lions 2013: Game time, TV schedule, online streaming, channel, and more

So two young quarterbacks from Texas walk into a Lincoln Financial Field...

The Eagles finished the third quarter of the season at 4-0 run and are now looking to repeat history in the month of December. Quarterback Nick Foles and the offense have been pretty good during the run and have limited their mistakes, which has helped out a defense that is becoming quite good. Over the last eight games, the Eagles defense has held opposing opponents to under 22 points. The sacks, interceptions and three-and-outs have greatly increased over that period, which has been a credit to Billy Davis and his schemes.

The Lions are coming off a massive blowout win over the Aaron Rodgers-less Packers on Thanksgiving. At 7-5, Detroit is in the lead for the NFC North crown and looks to be poised for the playoffs. The Lions have struggled with turnovers, having one of the worst turnover differentials in the league, despite having the NFL's leader in interceptions (linebacker DeAndre Levy). The Lions still have Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson, which is always a deadly pair against a poor pass defense. This game will be a huge test for the Eagles secondary. Running backs Reggie Bush and Joique Bell could give the Philadelphia front-seven a run for their money as well.

History Lesson

The Lions have one-game winning streak against the Eagles, after an overtime victory last season (thanks Juan Castillo).

Prior to that game, the Eagles had won six straight meetings.

Philadelphia is 16-13-2 against the Lions all-time.

The teams have played once in the playoffs, when the Eagles won a 1995 wild card game 58-37.

Fun Facts

  • The Eagles are the only NFL team with a 1,000-yard receiver and rusher. DeSean Jackson went over 1,000 yards in Week 13, while LeSean McCoy did it in Week 11.
  • Nick Foles needs two touchdowns without an interception to break Peyton Manning's start to the season record.
  • DeSean Jackson will set a new career-high in receptions with two catches (previous high is 62).
  • Trent Cole needs just one sack to move into sole possession of second place all-time for the Eagles. He is currently tied with Clyde Simmons at 76 sacks.
  • The Eagles are 395 yards from setting a new franchise record for most total yards in the first 13 games of the season.
