My friends and I decided to kill some time with a 3 round mock draft. We had the Eagles picking at the number 23 slot.
I was picking for the Eagles and these were my picks
Rd 1- Pick 23
Ifo Ekpre-Olomu CB Oregon 5'11" 185 LB
While this year's team has been fun to watch, Our defense needs help, especially in the secondary. Cary Williams is a good tackler, but often gives up big catches. Bradley Fletcher covers well but is often injured. If available I think Chip takes the guy he's comfortable with (favoritism!) and who fills a need.
Rd 2 - Pick 55
Kyle Van Noy DE/OLB BYU 6' 3" 245 LBs
If he falls to us in the second round in reality I will shed happy tears. OLB isn't a big of a need as safety, but could use an upgrade. Super productive, big bull-rusher. Named to multiple All-America teams. Solid tackler, and good rushing the QB. Plus he's athletic enough to cover (he played baseball, basketball, and ran track as well).
Rd 3 - Pick 87
Brandon Coleman WR Rutgers 6' 6" 220 LBs
Both Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper could be gone after the season (unlikely), so to help make up for the loss in production, here's a new HUGE target for Nick Foles to throw to. He's automatically the biggest receiver the Eagles have. Suffered from poor QB play at Rutgers, but also has some issues with drops and concentration. Averaged 19 YPC so he can provide a great downfield target. Also a solid blocker as a receiver.
