What to Root For: Bye Bye Birdie edition

Pretty simple this week, LETS GO GIANTS!!! And Jay Cutlers ankle and Aaron Rodgers collar bone...

So this is where we started last week in the tie breakers with Dallas

Head 2 Head Division record Common Games Conference record Strength of victory

Eagles 0-1 2-2 4-4 ★ 4-2 .333
Cowboys 1-0 ★ 3-0★ 3-4 5-2 ★ .362 ★

and this is how we ended up after the win over Washington

Head 2 Head Division record Common Games Conference record Strength of victory

Eagles 0-1 3-2 5-4 ★ 5-2 .350
Cowboys 1-0 ★ 3-0★ 3-4 5-2 .373 ★

May not look like much but keeping pace in the tie breakers was huge, a loss to Washington would have all but eliminated us from winning a tie breaker over Dallas. We also took over possession of first place with Dallas on a bye and remain in controll of our destiny, run the table and we are in!

That does't mean we don't want all the help we can get. A Giants win would be significant because it would allow us to actually lose 2 more games and still have a shot at tie breakers against Dallas as I noted in last weeks WTRF. A Cowboys loss this week still doesn't change the fact that we need a win in dallas week 17 even if we are up a game, it just keeps us alive if we are down a game going into week 17.

Check out how a Giants win would affect the tie breaker standings

So I had to include the Giants because a win; while not giving them controll over their own fate, makes them a contender. Still, we definitely want a Giants win for the wiggle room, tie breakers and increased possibility of resting guys in week 17.

Beyond the Cowboys losing there are a number of games that help with tie breakers. Every Bucks/Raiders/Green Bay win and every St louis/Minnesota Loss gains us ground in the SOV collumn.

I won't go into depth because it would take an insane amount of time but we are alive for a wild card spot and even a first round bye. Basically we want Carolina, San Fran, Arizona, Chicago and Green Bay to lose to increase our chances at a wild card. Every loss bye New Orleans and Detroit increases our odds at a first round bye/hosting the NFC title game... but yeah, back to this week,

LETS GO GIANTS!!! And various bones in the bodies of starting QBs that will soon play the Cowboys...
