Eagles vs. Giants Week 8 Fantasy Football Guide

Rich Schultz

Josh Collacchi takes a look at the Eagles and Giants fantasy football outlook for this weekend.

With the Eagles coming off a horrid week offensively, Michael Vick will look to spark the fantasy firepower once again for this Eagles offense. Each and every Eagles starter remains a must start with the exception of Brent Celek and Riley Cooper, leaving them as one of the better teams to have stock in as far as fantasy football goes. The Eagles' running game should be back in action as Michael Vick has the legs to take the entire focus off of McCoy in the zone read.

The Giants are a wreck at the running back position, but whoever starts has had a decent game in terms of fantasy points for the last few weeks. The passing game remains elite in terms of fantasy football with Cruz, Nicks and now Rueben Randle becoming viable fantasy options.

The defensive outlook remains the same, it is wise to not own the Eagles defense as a whole, but some players are interesting plays. Earl Wolff is worth an add in IDP dynasty leagues, and DeMeco Ryans is racking up tackles in the middle.

Here are the fantasy matchups for the Eagles vs. Giants game, the number next to the ranking indicates the projected rank for this week. A QB1 is expected to be in the upper echelon of scoring quarterbacks, and should be the best QB on your roster for the given week. A RB2 is the second best RB on your roster. A WR3 is the third best, etc. Anyone with a 3 in their rank are good plays at the flex position.

Michael Vick – QB1

Eli Manning– QB1

Vick and Manning are two of the better options at QB this week, simply because this game has the makings of being a shootout. Expect both to put up huge numbers this week.

LeSean McCoy – RB1

Brandon Jacobs – RB3

LeSean McCoy is a must start every single week. Assuming Jacobs returns as the starter for the Giants, he is a good flex option or even a RB for this week.

DeSean Jackson – WR1

Victor Cruz – WR1

Both Jackson and Cruz are among the league’s best in terms of fantasy, and neither should be sat for any reason.

Riley Cooper – WR4

Hakeem Nicks – WR2

Cooper has had two good games with Nick Foles, but struggled mightily with Vick at the helm, Hakeem Nicks remains one of the better WR2 in fantasy football, and should start in most formats.

Brent Celek – TE2

Brandon Myers – TE2

If Brent Celek doesn’t catch a touchdown, he is relatively worthless in fantasy, so only use him if you have to. Myers has the exact same value as Celek, but Manning seems to look his way in "garbage time".

Alex Henery – K1

Josh Brown – K1

In a high scoring game, kickers are the beneficiaries. Look for Henery and Brown to have at least 3 extra points and multiple field goal attempts.

Eagles Defense/Special Teams – DST2

Giants Defense/Special Teams – DST3

As aforementioned, it is not wise to start the Eagles defense, and with the amount of points the Eagles can score, it is not suggested to start Dallas’ defense either.
