I originally did have a mock with Chip Kelly as the coach, but now that it is a definite, we can take what we have and move forward (theoretically)
I am not going to predict who his staff will be because from what I have seen he is looking at the Georgia and Florida DC's, so I will leave that be.
Michael Vick - Although we may have Foles as the starter, we will see how Kelly forms his offense around him, but until we have to choose between Foles and other options, one of those will not be Vick, and his very expensive contract.
Nnamdi Asomugha - Some people are on the fence about cutting Aso and instead restructuring his deal, while I on the other hand couldn't give two shits about him. We paid him top money to bring us top production and he wet the bed. I know it wasn't all bad in consideration to our whole secondary was traumatizing, but we need a fresh start everywhere.
Demetress Bell - I still have yet to find anything to say about this guy.
Kurt Coleman - Coleman blew too many coverages, and missed too many tackles, he is just not a starting safety in the NFL
Mike Patterson - I chose to keep Jenkins over Patt, because if we do transition to the 3-4, he fits the bill as a 3-4 DE, but Patterson hasn't had production to be kept
Derek Landri - Rather disappointing production after he showed us some life last year, no reason to keep him around.
Jason Avant - It sucks, but I don't see Avant fitting into Chip's high octane, speed loving offense, and a core of Jackson, Maclin and another free agent/draftee has no room for Avant, even with Johnson and Cooper on the roster.
1st Round: Star Lotuleilei
2nd Round: Matt Elam
3rd Round: Da'Rick Rodgers
4th Round: Kenjon Barner
5th Round: Tyrann Matheiu
6th Round: Bruce Taylor
7th Round: Brad Wing
This is a very defense heavy draft, other than Da'Rick and Barner, who I think Kelly can turn into studs in our offense. Matheiu has the talent to be a defensive playmaker and a solid cornerback, and with a no-bullshit coach like Kelly (Kicked out Harris, Masoli, Blount) he can turn into the player he was supposed to be.
